Ed Kamrin

Founder and Principal Consultant

I started Kamrin Communications in August 2020 to help create positive organizational and social change through the power of communications. My specialty is in sifting through complex information and ideas to find the messages that resonate most. From that foundation, it’s possible to change behaviors, attitudes, and perceptions. And when communications strategy is firmly grounded in an organization’s purpose, it can help move (proverbial) mountains.

My favorite part of owning a consultancy is working with clients. Over more than twenty years in communications, I’ve worked with organizations including Splunk, Intuitive Surgical, JLL, McKesson, Amgen, SunPower, and Gilead Sciences. I gravitate to new initiatives and times of transformation. Along the way, I’ve developed expertise in sustainability, change management, and community engagement..

Giving back is important to me. For almost twenty years, I’ve served Bay Area nonprofits as a pro bono marketing consultant. I’m also a member of the International Executive Board of the International Association of Business Communicators.

I’m certified as a Strategic Communications Management Professional through the Global Communication Certification Council. After earning my B.A. in English at Swarthmore College, I studied languages at the University of Helsinki and business at UC Berkeley Extension.

Early in my career, I worked as an English teacher in Finland, where I witnessed the Northern Lights and spent time in Lapland, well north of the Arctic Circle. It instilled a love of frontiers and adventure that guides me in all I do.
